Waterloo Vision
The Prince's Foundation for the Built Environment
The Prince's Foundation were conducting a strategic planning consultation on behalf of the Waterloo Quarter Business Improvement District (BID) team, and wanted to be able to engage a wider spectrum, and greater number, of the public in their consultation than they could with a traditional consultation exercise.

We were approached by The Prince's Foundation for the Built Environment who have been working with the Waterloo Quarter BID team to create a vision for the overall development of the area during the next five years. They wanted to extend their public consultation efforts to a wider audience, through the web.
Working with the Foundation and the BID team, we developed a set of consultation 'questions' -- indicating places which were either already great, or ripe for improvement, on a map; commenting on, and rating, an individual proposal; commenting on and prioritising the plan's vision statement. We developed those into a web application which tied everything together with a user experience which made it easy to understand what proposals were about and where they were for.
The application provides the clients data reporting, updated live, allowing them to get summary and detail reports, and GIS information where appropriate.
